Bible version

פַּרשָׁנוּת

The psalmist begins by exhorting us to praise the Lord for His greatness and the beauty of His works. God is the one who restores the brokenhearted and heals their wounds. He knows the number of stars and calls them all by name. He is the one who provides food for the animals and sustains His people. The psalmist also reminds us of God’s care for His people. He does not delight in the strength of horses or in the legs of men, but in those who fear Him and trust in His steadfast love. He protects His people and blesses them with peace. In the final verses, the psalmist calls on the people to praise the Lord for His control over nature, His powerful word that sustains all things, and His choice of Israel as His special possession. The psalm ends with a call for all creation to praise the Lord.Psalm 147 reminds us that God’s greatness and care are worthy of our praise. We are encouraged to trust in God’s sovereignty and to find our peace and rest in Him. May we join with the psalmist in proclaiming the goodness and glory of our God.
