Bible version
The Silver Trumpets
Commentary
In Numbers 10, the Israelites are preparing to leave Mount Sinai and begin their journey to the Promised Land. The Lord instructs Moses to make two silver trumpets, which will be used to signal the people when it is time to move. The trumpets will also be used to call the people together for special occasions, such as when the Lord speaks to them. The Lord then gives Moses instructions on how to use the trumpets. He is to blow the trumpets when the people are to move, and when they are to assemble. He is also to blow the trumpets when the people are to go to war, and when they are to offer sacrifices. The chapter ends with the Israelites setting out from Mount Sinai and beginning their journey to the Promised Land. As they travel, the trumpets are blown to signal the people when it is time to move. In Numbers 10, we see the Lord providing the Israelites with a way to stay organized and unified as they travel to the Promised Land. The silver trumpets are a symbol of the Lord's presence and guidance, and they serve as a reminder of His faithfulness and protection.
