Nehemiah's Request to King Artaxerxes

In Nehemiah 2, we see Nehemiah's response to the news of the destruction of Jerusalem. He is deeply grieved and mourns for days. He then prays to God for guidance and strength. He is then given the courage to approach the king and ask for permission to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the city. The king grants his request and provides him with resources to accomplish the task.
