Commentary

In Nehemiah 2, we see Nehemiah's response to the news of the destruction of Jerusalem. He is deeply grieved and mourns for days. He then prays to God for guidance and strength. He is then given the courage to approach the king and ask for permission to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the city. The king grants his request and provides him with resources to accomplish the task. Nehemiah's faith and courage are evident in this chapter. He is willing to risk his life to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the city. He is also willing to trust in God to provide him with the strength and courage to do what needs to be done. His faith is further demonstrated when he sets out on his journey with a prayer of thanksgiving to God. This chapter is a great example of how faith and courage can lead to great things. Nehemiah's faith and courage are inspiring and serve as a reminder that we can do great things when we trust in God and have the courage to take action.
