Judges 7
Bible version
Commentary
In Judges chapter 7, we see the story of Gideon and his army of 300 men. Gideon is a leader of the Israelites, and God has chosen him to lead the people against the Midianites. Gideon is hesitant to accept the task, but God encourages him to trust in Him and to go forth with courage. Gideon then assembles an army of 32,000 men, but God tells him that this is too many. He instructs Gideon to reduce the number to 300, and Gideon obeys. With this small army, Gideon is able to defeat the Midianites and save the Israelites from their oppressors. This story is a reminder of the power of faith and obedience. Gideon was willing to trust in God and to follow His instructions, even when it seemed impossible. This is a lesson that we can all learn from. We must have faith in God and trust that He will provide for us, even when the odds seem insurmountable.
