Jeremiah 9

Commentary

Jeremiah's words in this chapter are filled with deep sorrow and anguish over the state of his people. He bemoans their deceitfulness, idolatry, and lack of concern for justice and righteousness. Despite Judah's stubbornness and rebelliousness, however, Jeremiah still holds out hope for their redemption if they would only turn back to God. The chapter ends with a plea to the people to seek wisdom, understanding, and the knowledge of God.
