In this chapter, we see God using the Babylonians as an instrument to punish disobedient nations. God shows his sovereignty over all nations and his control over the course of history. He also highlights the importance of submission to legitimate authority, even if it is not the preferred choice. We can learn from this chapter that sometimes in life, we are called to submit to difficult circumstances for the greater good. Through submission, we can learn humility and trust in God’s plan for our lives.
