Commentary

Genesis 7 is the story of the great flood that God sent to cleanse the earth of its wickedness. In this chapter, God instructs Noah to build an ark and to take two of every kind of animal into the ark with him. God also tells Noah to take seven pairs of every clean animal and bird. This is so that the animals can be used for sacrifices after the flood. God then tells Noah that he will send a great flood that will cover the entire earth and destroy all living things. Noah and his family are instructed to enter the ark and take all the animals with them. God also tells Noah to bring food for himself and the animals. The chapter ends with God sending the flood and the waters rising until they cover the entire earth. All living things are destroyed, except for those in the ark. This chapter is a reminder of God's power and his willingness to punish wickedness. It also serves as a warning to us to be obedient to God and to live a life of righteousness. We should also remember that God is merciful and will forgive us if we repent and turn away from our sins.
