1 Kings 13 is a chapter that speaks of a prophet of God who was sent to deliver a message to King Jeroboam. The prophet was instructed to not eat or drink anything while in Bethel, and to not turn back the way he came. However, an old prophet from Bethel lied to the man of God and told him that God had changed his instructions and that he could eat and drink in Bethel. The man of God followed the old prophet's instructions and ate and drank in Bethel. As a result, God's anger was kindled against the man of God and he was killed by a lion on his way home.
This chapter serves as a reminder to us that we must always be careful to follow God's instructions and not be swayed by the words of others. We must be careful to not be deceived by those who may try to lead us astray. We must also remember that God is a God of justice and will punish those who disobey Him. This chapter serves as a warning to us to be careful to follow God's instructions and not be deceived by the words of others.
