Huldah was a prophetess in the Hebrew Bible. She was the wife of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. She lived in Jerusalem during the reign of King Josiah of Judah. She is best known for her prophetic role in the discovery of the Book of the Law in the Temple of Jerusalem. Huldah was consulted by the high priest Hilkiah and the scribe Shaphan when they found the Book of the Law. She confirmed that the book was indeed from God and that the people of Judah should follow its teachings. She also prophesied that the people of Judah would suffer for their sins, but that Josiah would be spared from the coming judgment. Huldah was the daughter of Shallum, the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe. She had no known siblings.
