Shadrach

Shadrach was a biblical figure who is best known for his refusal to bow down to the idol of King Nebuchadnezzar. He was one of three Hebrew men, along with Meshach and Abednego, who were thrown into a fiery furnace for their refusal. Shadrach was the son of Hananiah, a descendant of King Jehoiachin of Judah, and his mother's name is not known. He had two siblings, Meshach and Abednego. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were all appointed to serve in the court of King Nebuchadnezzar. When the king ordered everyone to bow down to a golden image, the three refused. Despite the king's threats, they refused to bow down and were thrown into a fiery furnace. Miraculously, they were not burned and were instead seen walking around in the fire with a fourth figure, believed to be an angel. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were then brought out of the furnace unharmed and the king praised them for their faith. He then decreed that no one should speak against their God and promoted them to higher positions in his court. Shadrach is best known for his refusal to bow down to the idol of King Nebuchadnezzar and his miraculous survival in the fiery furnace. His story is a testament to the power of faith and courage in the face of adversity.
