Josias was a biblical figure who was the son of King Amon of Judah and Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. He was the grandson of King Manasseh and the great-grandson of King Hezekiah. He was the king of Judah from 640 to 609 BC. Josias is best known for his religious reforms. He was the first king of Judah to follow the law of the Lord and to abolish idolatry. He destroyed the idols and altars of the false gods and restored the worship of the Lord. He also ordered the repair of the Temple of Jerusalem and the reinstatement of the Passover. Josias had three brothers, Johanan, Jehoiakim, and Zedekiah, and two sisters, Tamar and Abiah. He was married to Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah, and they had three sons, Johanan, Jehoahaz, and Zedekiah. Josias is remembered for his religious reforms and his commitment to the law of the Lord. He is also remembered for his death in battle against Pharaoh Neco of Egypt. He was killed in the battle of Megiddo in 609 BC.
