Jochebed

Jochebed was a biblical figure, the mother of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. She was the daughter of Levi and the wife of Amram, both of whom were from the tribe of Levi. She is best known for her role in the Exodus story, when she placed her infant son Moses in a basket and set him afloat in the Nile River. Jochebed was a brave and resourceful woman who was determined to save her son from the Pharaoh's decree that all Hebrew male babies be killed. She made a basket of bulrushes and coated it with pitch and tar, then placed her son in it and set it afloat in the Nile. Pharaoh's daughter found the basket and adopted Moses as her own son. Jochebed was a devoted mother who risked her own life to save her son. She was also a wise woman who knew how to use her resources to protect her son. She was a faithful servant of God who trusted in His plan for her son.
