Amos

Amos was a prophet in the 8th century BC, during the reign of King Jeroboam II of Israel. He was from the small town of Tekoa, located in the Judean hills south of Jerusalem. His father was a shepherd and his mother was a dressmaker. He had two brothers, Azariah and Joash. Amos is best known for his prophetic ministry, which was focused on the northern kingdom of Israel. He was sent by God to deliver a message of judgment and repentance to the people of Israel. He warned them of the consequences of their sins and urged them to turn back to God. He also spoke of a future hope of restoration and redemption. Amos was a powerful and influential figure in the Old Testament.
