Abiah

Abiah was a biblical figure mentioned in the Book of Chronicles. He was the son of Jeroboam I, the first king of the northern kingdom of Israel. Abiah was the eighth of Jeroboam's fourteen children. He was the brother of Nadab, Baasha, Elah, Zimri, and Tibni. Abiah is best known for his role in the civil war between his father and his brother, Nadab. After Jeroboam died, Nadab became king and Abiah supported him. However, Baasha, another of Jeroboam's sons, rebelled against Nadab and killed him. Abiah was then forced to flee to Egypt. Abiah is also known for his role in the division of the kingdom of Israel. After Jeroboam's death, the kingdom was divided between Abiah and his brother, Tibni. Abiah was given the northern part of the kingdom, while Tibni was given the southern part. However, Tibni was eventually defeated by Abiah and the kingdom was reunited under Abiah's rule. Abiah is remembered as a faithful servant of God and a leader of the northern kingdom of Israel. He is also remembered for his role in the civil war between his father and his brother, and for his role in the division of the kingdom.
